The second Jeep® Jamboree was moved to summertime to take advantage of warmer and more settled weather, taking place in late January 1999 in the southern part of the King Country.
Our base was the Taumarunui Holiday Park and highlight 4WD drives included the northern slopes of National Park and a pristine bush area just half an hour from camp.
We welcomed back John Grenell for one night’s entertainment and also had a Latin American group for the second evening, featuring a South American–style barbecue.
