Measuring 55 metres long and 20 metres wide, this unique version of the US national flag weighed 225 tonnes and was made completely from Jeep models.
At the recent national Camp Jeep – similar to New Zealand’s annual Jeep Jamboree - held in the Pocono Mountains, 140 red, white, silver and blue Jeep models were formed into the giant flag as part of the National Anthem Project, a nationwide effort to re-teach Americans the words to the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’.
With Jeep recognized as a uniquely American vehicle, the “flag-waving” exercise helped to draw attention to the project, which was launched after research showed two out of every three Americans don’t know the words to their national anthem.
