2012 Jeep Compass arrives in New Zealand this summer like the AV monitor at a high school reunion, intelligent in technical design but now all grown up with sophisticatedly good looks to match its world-class reputation. 2012 Jeep Compass powertrain is comprised of the 2.4 Litre DOHC 16V World engine with variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust camshafts which helps to optimise the torque curve at all speeds and produces more power and a quieter smoother operation than those engines without it.
Compass produces 125 Kw of power and 220 Nm torque and coupled with CVT2 the second generation transmission improves fuel economy up to 6-8 percent compared to the traditional four speed automatic transaxle because of optimised gear ratios especially apparent in the 50-100 kilometre range during passing manoeuvres.
The new ride height and handling has been refreshed for 2012 Jeep Compass courtesy of the upgraded steering and suspension system, interior now comes with more soft touch point refinement and the exterior a complete reinvention with similar accents from the design of the Jeep Grand Cherokee making this the perfect compliment to any driveway this summer.
2012 Jeep Compass will be available to New Zealand as two models Jeep Compass Limited priced from $43,990 and late availability of the entry level 2012 Jeep Compass Sport which pricing is still to be released.
